Well this year has been. Interesting to say the least

...Well for starters I officially have a voice now. That's interesting right? Being a voice actress has always been something I've wanted to do, and that dream is now a reality! I'm currently involved in a number of Fangans/Project Sekai fandubs/just other random things which has been a lot of fun so far, and has helped me meet so many new friends! While most of the Fangans I'm voicing in still are yet to release, I'm still hyped to show you all nonetheless! I'm also involved in some Fangans as an artist and a writer which I am also excited to promote to people ^v^

And!! I am running my own fandub project of one of my favourite pieces of media in the past few years! Which is fuckin sick if you ask me I never thought in a million years that I'd be directing a project like this so being able to do this is so awesome (if any of the Orbit ALNST VAs are reading this ily all you are soso cool <3) We hope to have another release soon so keep an eye out for that :3

oh and ofc Memento Rosa and Hope's Chains have had some major developments that I've been looking forward to showing you all for such a long time. Both of these projects mean a lot to me so being able to write these and have y'all enjoy it means the world <3

As for next year! Obviously I'll be busy with my VA stuff and the Alien Stage dub, but my hope is to get Memento Rosa's main story and DFTH finally finished (I know y'all have been looking forward to it, dw I've not cancelled it I do plan on finishing it trust me). I do also at least want to start Hope's Chains chapter 4, and I guess starting Memento's event stories is a want but Idk if that's gonna happen yet But! Big things are planned!! Trust me!!!

Anyway, thank you all so much for sticking with me this year! It means so much that you guys are all here so...Idk what else to say other than thank you and peace and love hahahaha

Season 2 Predictions: Niko, Charles & Monty in the Neitherlands ; Niko & Charles' Parents

Aurora Borealis is often associated with folklore about spirits travelling the sky.

Highlighted excerpt above from here.

In the Toby Litt/Mark Buckingham comics, the Neitherlands are a place between life and death, shown with bird bone snow (I have a theory we will see Monty bump into Niko again in season 2 in the Neitherlands like when they first met).

There's no Niko in the comics, but the combination of Hana & Rosa proxy over to Niko in the show.

Charles saves Rosa from the Neitherlands in the comics.

Charles and Niko are both shown foreshadowed with the bear, probably an allusion to Nanuk.

I also have a theory that one of Charles' parents will die in season 2 and he'll see them there, like Niko will see her dad

Watched Dead Boy Detectives recently and read some of the comics, putting some thoughts here to get them into words. Minor speculation for the future if we get a second season (which'll be under a cut)

In the comics the boys are younger, somewhere around 12 or 13 I think and their deaths are a little different. The first major plot is actually focused entirely on the school, I like the shift from that and the way they took the cases in the show a lot actually. Although having them meet Crystal in boarding school would've been funny.

I think aging them up was actually the better option, especially if we want more than one season. Actually having them be as young as they were in the comics would've made it so they had to recast every few seasons since dead boys don't exactly age. I think it also allowed for a wider audience, having two main characters as 13 year olds would've been a little young for a lot of viewers to take the show seriously and to tie in with the Sandman show.

I'm really interested to see where they go from here, if they've decided not to use the school at all and how they handle Crystal and her parents. In the show so far we've only really seen the one glimpse of them but they have a bit more depth (like a tiny bit) in the comics and I do wonder if we'll see anything like that or if they'll be just as absent if we get a season 2. A few of the separate big bads they deal with in the comics come from the school, I'm leaning towards that being mostly left behind because of what we saw with Simon, in the comics he was definitely not someone who was ever going to be redeemed or make peace.

I'm putting the rest under a read more for season 2 spec that some people might not want to see (primarily a bit about Niko and where she might be)

So, my first thought is the Neitherlands. Idk how much it shows up in Sandman comics because I haven't gotten to those and is pretty big plot wise in the 2014 DBD run.

The Neitherlands is where a few different characters are trapped, namely 2 friends of Crystals, Hana and Rosa. In the original comics Rosa is taken as a child while with Crystal on a rollercoaster and Hana is sacrificed so her body can be stolen by a demon. Neither of them are exactly what happens to Niko but we don't really know what that charm did and I'm willing to entertain the idea because of it's connection to Tragic Mike.

Now, the thing that made me think of this at all is the most striking feature of the Neitherlands, snow made of bone. In the comics it appears without color, but the main defining feature from the beginning is snow made of bone. I could be entirely off base, but in the comics they are able to rescue and return people from the Neitherlands.

The question about that, is that in the comics the bodies are still alive. Rosa in a coma and Hana possessed by a demon. If Niko is in the Neitherlands while her body has died what does that mean for her return?

(other slight connection between the Neitherlands is that slightly more walrussy Tragic Mike has a direct path in his shop that allows him to go to the Neitherlands. Direct path as in like, him drowning for a while I think, but it works for him. And he did give Niko the lucky charm)

A quick warm up sketch of my terraria character and some more doodles of my side project.

I really liked the characters I made for my college class so I decided to just make them their own thing and expand on it for a different class.

The project is called Life Light, and it's a fantasy world that technically takes place within IdLS but not really. Think of it like an AU that holds the same rules as IdLS when it comes to its magic system.

I'll post more of them when I get around to it but each character has a name now, plus two more new characters.

Here I doodles Amiee and North, and I conceptualized a bit of Shae but I forgot that he's supposed to be a hyper feminine guy elf. Like a really pretty elf.

Also drew Rosa and a bit of Emi before I gave up on drawing Emi. I experimented a bit with Rosa's eyelashes and made hers more curly and bushy. It's basically an extrapolation of how guilty gear strive does eye lashes.

Then there's Terra Star, I wanted to do a soft colored in warm up since I really liked what I did with her outfit in game.

The general jist of it is a purely white monochrome mage outfit with color accented accessories like the magic cuffs and pink obsidian rose. The third pic is how I have wings and the shield of cthulu hidden so it would look like they're formed out of magic and only appear when they're being used and disappear when it's not. Making them that pink color was such a good idea.

My finger’s green.” He pokes another and giggles. “Blue now.” Charles mutters a curse and presses the button to turn off the blinking lights. “What happened?” Edwin looks sadly at his jumper. “Where did the lights go?” Desperately, Charles turns to Thomas, who seems as befuddled as him. “There’s got to be some way to undo this, yeah?”

Niko doesn’t remember why she wanted to go home earlier. The music is so loud her body seems to vibrate with it, Crystal is close enough that she can smell her coconut shampoo, and Niko has never felt more energized. She thinks she could stay here, dancing, forever. Crystal is staring at her, her dark eyes wide and reflecting pink lights. Actually, a lot of people are looking at Niko. Rosa, Hana, Edwin, and people she doesn’t even know are stopping to turn and stare at her. The euphoria of a moment before is doused as suddenly as it flared up, like she just got splashed with icy water. Niko stops dancing, looking around to try and figure out why people are watching her. Did she do something wrong while dancing? Does she have toilet paper stuck to her shoe? Did her dress rip open to show her underwear? “Edwin.” That’s Crystal’s voice, sounding very far away. “Are you seeing this?”

He’s practically vibrating with impatience, arms crossed over his chest and foot tapping. “You’re late,” he bites out. “It’s three minutes past, Payne,” David says before Crystal can reply. “Calm the fuck down. Where is it?” “Here.” Russell holds up a briefcase. “I don’t know if this thing can actually open a door to Hell, but whatever’s in here, it’s giving me the creeps.” Crystal only has to look at the briefcase to know what he’s talking about. Even through the salt and iron lining meant to keep the stone tablet inside contained, malevolence seems to emanate from within. It’s enough to make a cold sweat prickle on the back of Crystal’s neck. She doesn’t want to get in a car with it. She doesn’t even want to be in the same country as it.
